We have decided to follow the Lord and put a trust in Him that His word will provide for my family as we follow. I will tell you that it is not always easy to do what is right. However, God has never asked us to go anywhere or do anything that He has not or will not provide the provisions.
We sat down with the Preacher tonight and informed him of the good news. We will also go before the church and let them know what we are called to do, and give the church as a whole the ability to pray for us as we get started on this narrow path. We will remain open and available to be use of God.
My major fear is that I have not learned enough, or I am not good enough to be used of our Lord. However, the Lord just wants available and willing souls and so I should be able to do something to help get others into the Kingdom. I am sure that our preacher has taught us well, and has helped us to learn the bible well. We just need to continue to grow in the Lord.
To stop and think of what we are being asked to do, it is exciting as well as scary. It is not every day that people just up and leave everything to go to another country, while at the same time dragging there little ones with them. Here in America we are spoiled to having things our way, and in our time frame. This is probably the biggest reason that we don’t have more people going to the mission field than we do right now. We have everything that we want and need, and the Lord has blessed us with everything we need, and many things that we want. Since He has given us all these things, we figure we don’t need God anymore since we got almost everything anyway.
I don’t mind change, change can be good. When it comes to my family, I don’t want to change anything up, or take away the stable environment that I have setup to provide for them. I think that the main reason for this is because I don’t like to leave them without. I don’t want to see them hurt for things, or need things they can’t get. I know that if God wants us to go, he will provide a way by which we will get there, and when we get there he will provide a way by which we can live. The very nature of things tell me that I still need to worry if it don’t look like we will have enough food to eat, or if we don’t have the funds to continue to where we are going, or to get back to that which we come from. God has taken care of us thus far and I am sure that he will continue to do so as long as we continue to do His will for our life.
This will probably not be the easiest thing in life to do but, let’s face the facts for a second, life is not always easy. Life is more so just like a bed of roses, sometimes you have to get pricked by the thorns to get a hold on the whole rose.
When you knock doors here in America you are lucky if they will listen to you for more than a minute, which that is if they even answer the door. When you go to other countries you find thousands upon thousands that want to hear the word, and receive the gift of life. Numbers will encourage many to continue and will make you feel as if your actually performing good works. However, if here in America you can reach just 1 more you are doing just as great of work for the Lord. The difference in the two will be found in the heart of the people performing the works.
As long as we have the Lord on our side, and we are following his will for our life, then we will be happy and rejoice regardless of the outcome. Philippians 4:4 commands us to Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! That don’t mean just in the good times, it is talking about the bad times as well.
